@Gargron@mastodon.social what is this black box at the left side of the image? I saw that recently on some youtube videos that were made to look old, but I don't really understand what that box represents

@DJGummikuh@mastodon.social It's a sprocket hole in the film which allows a gear in the camera to latch onto the film and move it in front of the shutter as it opens and closes.
