I think this is what happens when people stick to units of measurement like acres or inches or, most cursed of all, Fahrenheit. Just switching to metric or whatever isn't really an option, mathematical equivalence be damned:

Edit: weight of material by area gives Fahrenheit a run for their money, that's true.
