Having now done 4 of these ridged collars, I have a ton of respect for the "sloppy" collars all over medieval scrollwork panels. Starting to get the hang of it.

@GustavinoBevilacqua@mastodon.cisti.org I should have made my first one much larger. The frame is of 12mm stock, and the collars 12mm by 6mm. They don't hold the heat well enough to get good open time. Even going to 18mm would have made it significantly easier, I think.
