Brey, nobody is holding you personally responsible for not 'doing something" about Dollar Store Hitler.

But the guy has been in charge for a year. The Gestapo, and the National Guard have been in the streets and in ICE's case disappearing people for months. They passed a budget to build gulags and a domestic nazi army. Now he's kidnapping world leaders and demanding Greenland from Denmark.

We haven't even TRIED to be ungovernable. At some point, you gotta own your part in obeying the nazi.

You wanna know why nobody stopped Hitler. A lot of Germans agreed with Hitler, and the people who didn't just kept going to work and doing what the fascist told them because "what could THEY do." That's how it happened. That's how it is happening now.

In Italy we had antifa strikes between 1942 and 1944, under full fascist regime.

@GustavinoBevilacqua@mastodon.cisti.org Yeah, would that they had come sooner however - far too much of the Italian ruling class that was not expressly fascist, came out of the years of lead saying "whatever it takes to break worker power" and that gave Mussolini what he needed to do most of what he did.

But I would still rate the resistance efforts of Italians, even in the 1920's, miles and miles and miles ahead of what I've seen from Americans.
