I am utterly fucking gobsmacked that I am going to have to spend the next two plus years arguing with absolutely unhinged morons that "yes it is an oil war, and no it has nothing to do with drugs, human rights, or fighting terrorism" despite the fact that the goddamn President was telling his minions we were gonna take Venezuelan oil on the campaign trail, we're seizing oil tankers in real time, and literally a fucking WEEK AGO Trump said we OWN their fucking oil.

Like, this is the standard, ACCEPTABLE academic position in our society - that Iraq was not about oil. I shit you not. You go give a lecture about the Iraq war to bougie libs and university minions and you are SUPPOSED TO SAY the war wasn't about oil. To this day. In 2025.
