Anyone else out there doing sand casting or lost wax/lost PLA casting?
I'm having some ideas about using something like a laminar flow gating system, smooth spiral sprues from the pour basin down to the bottom of the mold, and am wondering if anyone else has tried this. There are some interesting research papers about it.

I think if I try to cast something jt could be defined "lost time casting".

Anyway the idea of the "bottom-up" pouring sounds promising to avoid bubbles.

This is what I'm thinking about trying next. Pour basin at top and more or less tangential runner across the bottom of the mold, so the aluminum can run down smoothly and fill the sprue horn.
