A few things #deltachat apps are doing positively different from #Signal apps
- easiest onboarding ever; not depending on phone numbers or other private data
- support for multiple chat profiles/identities
- decentralized servers, not depending on US-based GAFAM etc.
- migration from one app/platform to any other
- easy multi-device support for any chat profile
- developers have chances to get their PRs merged :)
- mini-apps support via https://webxdc.org

@delta@chaos.social there is something that can happen and will happen to new people: uninstall Delta Chat and lose the account. Is there a way to warn people before uninstall? Maybe not, but it'd be great to be able to prepare a text warning about second devices or backups, even offer a link to download backup file...?
@mikelgs@mastodon.eus @delta@chaos.social there is a backup file feature in the chat settings which exports all chats and account data so that you can import it all on a new device/installation.
@gianmarcogg03@mastodon.uno @delta@chaos.social I know, I love it. But people that we bring into Delta don't know about it or can't understand it at first. When I make someone use DC for the first time I don't want to bother with that. It has happened to me that someone uninstalled and tried to log in... Anyway, that wont happen to them twice 😆
@mikelgs@mastodon.eus could be an opportunity for @delta@chaos.social to think of a way to let users know about this in a welcome tour of sorts?
