You do NOT need to buy new clothes or holiday decor this week. You do NOT need to buy new, period!

What if you challenged yourself not to buy anything new for the rest of the yearβ€”and nothing at ALL during the national economic blackout from today thru December 2?

But not Facebook. A cesspit full of scammers!

Boycott Franchise Food as they treat/pay workers worst and export all the profits.

Boycott things like "Black Friday" sales.

@raymaccarthy@mastodon.ie The call for a national economic blackout this week is for all purchasing. Folks have been preparing for it for months.

There are scammers on FB marketplace but also lots of great free/cheap finds. Many of the gift economy exchange groups are FB-based as well. I totally understand that many folks don't use Meta social media, but for those who do, these can be good options. I've gotten a ton of free stuff through the site.

The nastiest corporations are international and try to ignore local law and culture.
