@Gargron@mastodon.social @Mastodon@mastodon.social please allow us to order it here in Canada.
We have nothing to do with the orange man.
@chad@mstdn.ca @Gargron@mastodon.social @Mastodon@mastodon.social Agreed - framing the tariffs problem as the sole reason to exclude about 180 countries is weird. Exclude the US for sure, but not others.
@c_9@mstdn.ca @chad@mstdn.ca @Mastodon@mastodon.social Clearly something is wrong with how I wrote it. But the only thing I'm framing is that we're not going to use our US warehouse this time around. We never have shipped to all 180 countries.
@Gargron@mastodon.social @c_9@mstdn.ca @Mastodon@mastodon.social β¦you donβt need a US warehouse to ship to Canada.
Thatβs like saying you need a warehouse in Serbia to ship to the EU.
@chad@mstdn.ca @c_9@mstdn.ca @Mastodon@mastodon.social That is a completely separate discussion. We don't know for sure how many units we would be able to sell in Canada, so it's not clear if the overhead of registering for sales tax there is worth it. Same for every other country we don't already ship to.
@Gargron@mastodon.social @c_9@mstdn.ca @Mastodon@mastodon.social if you donβt sell $30k in revenue youβre a small supplier and donβt need to register to collect GST.

@chad@mstdn.ca @c_9@mstdn.ca @Mastodon@mastodon.social Also... You may need a warehouse in Serbia to ship to the EU, if you don't have a warehouse anywhere else in the EU and you want to keep the shipping costs low because people might not buy your product if the shipping is more expensive than the product.
