Mims Davies (Con) raises in the HofC about #Linehan
"Writer and comedian was arrested for three tweets he says were based on his gender-critical views. Despite this g'ment's claim to protect free speech he has been banned from using the platform as part of his bail conditions.

Can the Sec of State confirm that it us now a crime in Britain to tell potential offensive jokes and face armed arrest?"

So what's the problem with her statement

The problem with her argument is

She starts e saying, quite seriously, that
#Linehan's tweets were based on "gender critical theory"

And then says, no, don't worry, it was only a joke

You can't have it both ways

Either he was serious throughout, or he was joking throughout..

What is Linehan?

@Geri@mastodon.online Wasn't it his actual physical harrassment of a trans woman he was arrested for in reality though? If not it should have been.

Or is it OK now to assault trans women?

To be clear. Linenham wrote discriminatory messages on X

In the UK, "gender reassignment" is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. This includes those who are proposing to undergo, are undergoing, or have undergone a process to reassign their sex.

#Linehan has breached that law

The Serious Crime Act 2007 and the Public Order Act 1986 are two laws that govern encouragement to violence in England and Wales

So he has broken both of those laws too
