Things are about to get weird.

The Alberni Inlet breeze is in full swing. This is a serious concen for the fire. It remains hot and dry.

However: We are now expecting 50-100mm of rain on the West Coast of Vancouver Island starting Thursday night to Friday night. (This could cause things like landslides in newly-fire impacted hillsides)

can't see the mountain. The Alberni Inlet Breeze is clearing the City of the smoke but it is also pushing it all around the Valley like a bowl.

The air is worse on the north and west side of the valley as the smoke gets trapped by the hillside.

Long plume of smoke rises in the distance and move moves from right to left. The air in the immediate neighbourhood is clear. Looking toward the north side of the valley can see the smoke hanging low obscuring mountain range The air quality sensors in the valley show the air is good in the city closest to the Alberni inlet, but it is poor in the valley further away A close-up of the fire smoke going to the sky. It is blue and hazy on the bottom. Then it is brown or orange and hazy in the middle. On top is large billowing white.
