As an English major in college, I would write my rough draft of papers with pen on paper. I would type my final version from that, editing on the fly. There were many times when I was halfway through typing a sentence and realized that the end of the sentence didn't fit with the beginning. Even though the ending was generally a better thought, the beginning was already typed, so I had to modify the ending, instead.
