Now...
having been a Soldier obviously I do NOT like War
at the same time I am NOT a 'Pacifist to the bitter end'
I understand the need to defend oneself from an aggressor
The treaty banning land mines was signed in peacetime
(when land mines were not needed)
now that we are dragged by the hair into a war by the Russians
many States decide to abandon the treaty...
so
what sense did it make to sign it
if at the moment that the land mines 'are needed'
everyone wants to use them?
