What is your preferred conditional comment grammar style? (Assume "X" and "Y" may be of less-trivial length)

Depends. Depends, depends, depends.
If X isn't some horrible complex expression, I put # do Y under the conditional (in the "then" fork).
If X is some complex condition that can be summarized in English (natural language), I still might break up the comment into # if X and # do Y.
And under the else fork, which may be far away, I basically assert # not X, so do Z. (Again, if X is complex.)
