the #wildfires consuming #Spain are also consuming Portugal because the fires started in their shared Galicia region and it’s extended from there.

we need now to convince citizen journalists, bloggers and hyperlocal publications that having a presence in the #fediverse is, in the era of AI slop and #enshittification, more important than ever.

i would need to switch VPN localities to have access to the amounts of headlines from spanish, french, italian sources i get here ―on #Mastodon’s own search engine― than on ANY www search engine. they all rely on either Google or Bing slop. Mastodon doesn’t.
