I have a question for #Toronto folks
I live in a small residential street and someone abandoned a car in front of my neighbour's house two weeks ago.
We called Toronto parking, all they did was issue a ticket for illegal parking.

Obviously the car is illegally parked, it has been two weeks and it's in front of her house.

We don't have driveways here, and now there's an abandoned car.

Is there a way to track down if that car is stolen (my Brazilian gut feeling says it was), and have the city tow it away?

@renatarocha@mstdn.ca - call 311 and they'll send out bylaw (who can check who it belongs to). Or just pester your city councillor if you'd rather not deal with cops yourself (since cops are all assholes, even the bylaw enforcement ones who you'd think should be more community focused).

@Polywog@lgbtqia.space We did that already, they sent a parking officer who chalked all parked cars (and possibly ticketed the abandoned car, which is useless) and that was it! Good job officer! I'm sure someone who abandoned a car cares about a ticket.

Our councillor is useless and I don't expect to have anything solved by him in less than six months.

I was wondering if there wasn't anything specific (and it looks like there isn't! baffling!) to "vehicle abandoned under suspicious circumstances"

@renatarocha@mstdn.ca - well, if it were me I'd just keep calling. Every day. Multiple times a day. Piss them off until they do something about it. And if it takes more than a week, contact someone at CP24 or Global News so they can do a local spotlight on how negligent policing is leaving your neighbourhood dangerous and filled with abandoned stolen property (the investigative reporters love that stuff).

Orrrr..... I know a lot of people who'd just break into the car, pop it in neutral, and roll it to a no-parking zone in front of a fire hydrant, so it gets towed right away.
