What the fuck, how am I just now hearing about an air Canada strike right before I leave next week!?

Okay I am very confused. The Air Canada website seems to imply that only flights between the 13th and 18th are affected at the moment, with things winding down over 72hrs from today to full stoppage by the 15th.
So the strike is just for 3 days? That seems...unlikely?
