Just now playing with view-transition-name for MPAs and this is a really nice example of a well designed progressive enhancement: if you switch it on then you get slightly fancier behaviour, and if it isn't supported at all you still get perfectly good behaviour out of the browser.
One small thing: don't put double quotes ("") around your view-transition-name values or they'll be rejected and ignored. :)

Also props to MDN for having a really nice write up explaining this feature even though Mozilla Firefox doesn't support it yet.
