I swear... I want to just unfollow everyone I kept on various platforms from my Twitter days. The queer Christian crowd was kinda fun but every time some reasonably well known pastor says something exceptionally stupid or toxic (which happens A LOT) it's all any of them talk about for days.

I just don't need the drama.

(I don't follow any of them here. But I do have a few I follow on Instagram. Maybe I should just delete Instagram.

@faithisleaping@anarres.family I kind of noticed this in my mainline days. I feel like for a lot of progressive Christian types, there is this intense need to counter the argument that they are not really Christian. And so there’s this constant drumbeat of β€œwell what they’re doing isn’t really Christian” as well as β€œhey, evangelicals, look, we’re still Christian too!”

It’s tiring. Just go build your little communities of care for the people who are actually in your community. Take to the streets and support other groups that are opposing fascism. But who cares what the latest evangelical menace said? It’s a day ending in a Y, they are going to say something awful. And if most of the church thinks you’re a bunch of heretics? Why would you want to be associated with that dumpster fire anyway?
