Scientists in Vienna have created a leather alternative from mushroom mycelium that’s stronger, more flexible, and more fire-resistant than animal hide. Grown in low-oxygen chambers and treated with non-toxic enzymes, it’s biodegradable, cruelty-free, and produced without harmful chemicals or environmental damage.
