@watchfulcitizen@goingdark.social I've been running my single-user instance since May of 2023. Fedi isn't dying, the protocol just currently struggles with discoverability of content for smaller instances. They're working on fixes for that.
My feed is almost entirely posts and boosts of people and orgs that I follow. Following hashtags (like #foss, or #mastodon) also helps if your instance has relays configured.
