@Toxic_Flange@infosec.exchange I don't know what it applies to. I just got handed a laptop by my wife, given to her by a friend, and was asked "it's apparently running really slow, can you take a look?" I crack open resource monitor, and there's something called "defragsvc" hammering the disk into oblivion. I thought it was malware trying to look inconspicuous, but nope, apparently it's a real thing.
