@chad@mstdn.ca "At the end of May the province launched a $13 million traffic safety fund. Municipalities can apply for funding to invest in road safety measures including digital speed signs, intersection upgrades, better lighting and pedestrian safety improvements.

Dreeshen said no municipal government has applied for funding but he has heard regularly from police about the need to find ways to design roads to be safer."

Also UCP: no bike-lanes or reducing car lanes. If you dare to do anything not for the sole benefit of drivers driving without restriction we will come down on you like a pile of bricks

β€œAlberta will launch an anti-speed racing and dangerous driving campaign at the end of August in hopes of deterring reckless driving.”

Albertans have a long history of doing exactly what the provincial government asks of them…

@chad@mstdn.ca But "freedom"!

Adult children are too cognitively immature to grasp that one's rights and freedom can only exist by way of others' obligation to uphold them, and vice versa. For example, they don't get that others' right to live is their obligation not to kill them by driving with excessive speed. It's the same naive solipsistic self-exceptionalism as led to the "convoy."
