My dorstenia foetida spreads its seeds through explosive dehiscence, which is to say that as the flowers die, they dry up, and the seeds that stick out of the face of the flower like a pimple or forcefully ejected. You can see the getting seeds here as green spots of the reddening flower. (Trypophobes will hate this).

Anyhow, I was watching one of the flowers dry this week and waiting for when the seeds were ready to harvest so I could try planting them, but when I went out there right now, all of the seeds had already been ejected.

I was disappointed, but only for a moment, because I saw that though they had been flung away from the plant, they had all been captured by a nearby spider web.

I planted them and I am hoping I'll get some more of these cool little plants.
