@cosmiclibrarian@universeodon.com @PhoenixSerenity@beige.party I had much better luck with a naturopath than with my family doctor, unfortunately. My doctor put me on antidepressants which, although they did get rid of my hot flashes, made my health much, much worse. I managed to wean myself off them, and until I could finally get to see an OBGYN, the naturopath helped me with supplements which decreased the severity of my hot flashes and severe night sweats.

Ultimately, HRT is what helped me the most, but it took me literally years before I could finally get them prescribed by an OBGYN. I suffered the whole time. It's appalling how menopausal people are disregarded and mistreated by the medical establishment.

I was lucky. My doctor was great, telling me all the things I could try, then letting me chose. I chose HRT, which didn't last long.
