LLM aficionados actively decide against being craftspersons. They don't think mastering a craft holds intrinsic value. Atrophy indeed.
David Nash@paninid@mastodon.world 1. and 2., all the time. For short trips I just memorize the key parts of the route. For longer ones, I occasionally make old-school paper maps with key points (major intersections / landmarks) in a form I can glance over at quickly as needed.
3: not so much -- I do not have the world's best sense of "where things are without looking at them", and though I can do it, I don't like to, and without visual assistance, it sometimes takes several tries no matter how carefully I am doing it.

1. Always. I deliberately try not to use GPS. Believe it or not, that atrophy is a big thing... have seen it in both kids (can't get home without GPS?!?!) and adults.
2. Write my own emails.
3. Always parallel park manually. But avoid parallel parking generally LOL.
Very good points. Especially visible with navigation... #2 is going to be a huge issue with the LLMs now doing that stuff.
