i was speaking with someone the other day who said they worked in ai. After providing my stance ar an artist against especially generative ai, we got to talking a bit about what he actually does.
And it seems like getting down to it, he only really uses ai for getting boilerplate code faster than he could write it.
As i mentioned, im an artist and don't actually do any coding myself, so please excuse me if this is like. Obviously unfeasible or already exists or something:
Could we not just have like. A big repository of well-indexed and documented boiler plate code to search in and copy from? Rather than getting an llm chatbot to try and generate it on demand forever?
It could be easily searchable in dhe same way a prompt might get an llm to generate the target code, but like. Just needs storage and serving rather than generation on demand and boiling the oceans to do so?
It could even be cute and be called the Boiler Room or something
