Now LinkedIn has a “Top Colleges” list. While I’m proud of my university and we repeatedly appear well-placed in such lists, I’ve got to tell you these “rankings” are all such clickbait or sales ploys. Always remember: not everything that counts gets counted and not everything counted counts.

@gallaugher@mastodon.world People still have LinkedIn accounts? Poor souls.

Ha! Well, @Nead@social.vivaldi.net maybe I’m a contrarian but LinkedIn is hugely helpful to me as an educator. I’m able to follow students’ careers, invite them to speak, collaborate, come to events, and definitely find it’s a way to reach other academics. Yes lots of the stuff is eye roll but I’d never give it up. Too useful for me. Syllabus has students post their LI and I encourage them to connect.
