I think ditching Github is probably a good idea. Personally I like the look of Codebeg and may be migrating my personal stuff there. But I don't have any experience with it yet.

We migrated the website code of
@OSCo@infosec.exchange to codeberg and setup an own woodpecker instance for the CI/CD pipelines. That should reduce their load a little bit. Since codeberg is a non-profit offering such a great service is not easy. It works fine.

I just asked myself if my projects need a hosted service like codeberg since I have my own server. But I got some bug reports for the Hectoc Bot, so it would be nice to have a community.
But I read that Forgejo is working on a federation feature, so it should be possible to interact with my instance from other instances or codeberg.
