People love this kind of post because a) FOSS is objectively bad, and only survives as the lesser evil to enshittified stuff, b) people hate being given advice on any topic.
I'm an old guy, we give advice. It's one of the very common temptations of age. It doesn't matter whether it's about gardening or whatever, people will be like "how dare you respond to my social media post as if I wanted advice on the problem I posted about."

@richpuchalsky@mastodon.social since you don't seem to get it, so let's imagine if someone posted "wow these Ikea tables are really not working for me because <i have a disability and can't assemble / they are cheap garbage / the catalog has nothing in sizes that work in my tiny flat>" and then someone barges in like "well the problem could quite easily be solved by sourcing your own lumber from a sustainable supplier, then using the workshop you have in your garage, use a AX-789 table saw [discontinued in '78] and your Whatsit Brand jib [only available in South Africa] and your Mr. McDrill [4000 quid] and follow these schematics and spend 20 hours to build something that's just right for you."
Not fucking helpful, and I say this as someone who often can figure out the arcane bullshit to make Linux/FOSS work. I don't want to have to, and it's all a massive pain and I'm already *good at this shit.* Most people aren't and shouldn't have to be.
Anyway, if this is "a social medium" then reply guys could be social and try to 1) ask if the person wants help and 2) be social instead of just shouting out answers. Like if this happened in a bar where every time I voiced a complaint to a mate and some fuckin' bloke turned around and started giving me answers I would be irate.
