Very much do not want to write anything tonight, but hey... I'm going to anyway.
Got an email from the person who I was trying to game with (before Christmas). An attempt may be made to at least get together. That's 1 good thing...
"Phone was weird today". One thing was maybe some issue with one person who was having trouble making a phone call? I don't really know about that. There was a case of I think "3 phone calls one after another" which the middle one I think I grabbed, and it said "BCSPCA" It could have been legitimate, but when I picked up, they didn't seem to have hung up, but they didn't connect.
Then there was a scammer who called (OK, maybe not fair to call a scammer, but admitted to making a "telemarketing call" (and assuming that was accurate) and not even giving the name of the business they are). That's not "weird" but it's really annoying.
I watered the birds and plants. Plants were very much not happy. Maybe I missed them yesterday? I don't know.
I'm very much exhausted, and want to just chill out and not do anything. I kind of just don't even want to look at the computer.
I dumped a game I think yesterday or the day before. Hidden puzzle "platform" with multiple stories in it (including "Enigmatis"), sort of similar to *June's Journey*, though the game play is better, the story is better... except... Besides a few of the games being frustrating "moon logic" or not exactly, and "running back and forth from extreme ends of map".
The stories are decent, but they seem to be very much "linearly designed" and so often just like... There could be stuff sorted out, out of order... But it doesn't work.
And... It's "free to play" and some of the frustration playing feels like it's meant to push you to buying the "credits" to make things easier.
Today, I was "missing having that as something to play" even though it was really frustrating playing it (at least at times). And it didn't feel like, "hey I don't understand," but more that it either was designed to be frustrating, or it was just so poorly designed, as to be largely unplayable.
The thing I feel is that free to play games, are tricky, because it's rare that they are good games in themselves, with basically "cosmetics" or "may help with game, but not really needed". It takes a lot to make a good game. And then to not get money up front when people want to play, you have to come up with something that gets people to want to pay.
Most of the games I run into of the "free to play" sort aren't really "fun to play" other than they are free. I mean, maybe that's "fun to play for me." A few that I've liked, Palia, Genshin Impact, Infinity Nikki. Ones like Candy Crush Saga or similar, are fun enough, but I wouldn't pay for them. Some of those have more story, but it's tricky to come and create enough of that, and vary the game play...
