I was about to say the desirability of GenAI is on the level of diarrhea, but then realized that's way, way, way off the mark.

Diarrhea is just a few days of discomfort but it'll pass. The desirability of GenAI is right there with cancer, and the way it's consuming healthy internet tissue at an ever-increasing rate, seems a fairly fitting analogy.

I don't want this GenAI shit any more than I want a cancer. Boost if you agree.

@Turre@mementomori.social @saaste@mementomori.social On a personal level, yes. On a wider scale, it’s worse than cancer. LLM:s are destroying education as we speak. And in a few generations, humans will have lost much of the current capacity for learning and problem solving.

Yeah it's more like a cancer of the entire human population, we are just individual cells it corrupts in the process.
