I'd imagine Putin is extremely interested in a way out from this fiasco he created. However if he doesn't exit with something to show for it he's literally a dead man. Conervsely there's no way Zelensky can give up one inch of land after all the, atrocities that've occurred against the Ukrainian people. Therin lies the impass. Maybe a DMZ through the Donbas?

If Trump tries to invade Canada, he's literally a dead man. We won't be creating a demilitarized zone in Sherbrooke just to save his face, but which also gives him time to pause and continue the invasion in the future.
