The water levels in the St. Lawrence River are at their lowest in four years, 60cm below the median. Certain drinking water uses have been prohibited in the western part of the Island of Montréal.

@EdwinG@mstdn.moimeme.ca The management of St0Lawrence river was changed after the big 2017 floods with a decision to keep the lakes are higher but stable level. If they agreed to release more water they could raise levels at Dorion/Beauharnois which would reduce how much fo Ottaw ariver flows into St0-Lawrence here and send more water down the Rivière des Prairies and Milles Iles.

And the stable water level of the St-Larence west of Beauharnois/les Cèdres means ships have no problems but would between Beauharnois and Somewhere betwen Trois Rivières and Québec where tides starts to control water level.
