it’s intentionally used to dehumanize and alienate us from our personal stories and histories, ie:

They've done it with copyright to artists before. To the publishers and platforms, it's just “content“, i.e. random “stuff“ they're selling us at a premium while artists barely get anything. Except for a few of 'em. Got worse with AI, where this same “content“ now is just free food for their shady business models without any regard to copyright whatsoever.
