We implored him to respect our centuries-old norms, time-honored institutions, ethics, and his #OathOfOffice. He didn’t.
We hoped our system of checks and balances would stop him. It didn’t. #CongressionalRepublicans were craven, complicit, or both. The fed’l judiciary proved feckless.
We turned to the #SCOTUS; he had already corrupted it, w/ #MitchMcConnell‘s help.
We pursued him thru state courts, hoping that would end his criminality. It didn’t.
We must save our democracy.
