It’s 2025 and I still get multiple emails each day along the lines of “When I visited your website I saw you were not ranking well on Google” and variations thereof.

Does anyone actually fall for this?

@cranachan@universeodon.com I almost responded to one just to ask "what specific issues are you encountering" as they claimed my web site had multiple issues with SEO, accessiblity, bad links and Javascript errors.

But! I decided that fun would be time I'd never get back.

@wiredprairie@mastodon.social thought about that also. But then you see it’s a gmail address, the email has been sent BCC to a whole bunch of addresses, and you think about the less than 0 credibility the person has…..
