Apropos the President of the United States and his threat of 10 years' imprisonment for "so much as touching" a statue …
Let us reflect that this was once a grand American pastime. How far the mighty nation has fallen.
🎶
We went strolling through the park
🎶
Goosing statues in the dark
🎶
If Sherman's horse can take it,
why can't you?
🎶
Buffalo Bill next time I pass
🎶
I'll stick a finger in his eye
🎶
If Buffalo Bill can take it,
why can't you?

@fgbjr@indieweb.social He's assuming that the current Congress will vote to erect a statue of him, and he's afraid of what will happen to it once there's again a functioning democracy in this country. There's plenty of precedent around the world for what has happened to dictators' statues, and for that matter in this country for Confederate monuments.
