and perhaps even more basic than that, talking with friends in order to plan an outing is something that friends do as part of being friends. these weirdos trying to automate friendship have got some things wrong.

@regehr@mastodon.social indeed. Having recently organised a get-together for a bunch of friends, there are an enormous number of unstated preferences that usually only come out after several rounds of proposals and discussions.

What I
would love is a kind of 2-phase-commit Booking.com, whereby nobody is out of pocket if too many people fail to actually book flights/hotels.
