Two phrases about so-called AI that keep being repeated over and over are that "it's here to stay" and "you have to use it if you don't want to be left behind".

Now think about it for a sec, if they were true, why would they need to be repeated so often?

@gabrielesvelto@mas.to Marketing is often about presenting a weakness as if it were a strength. It is meant to create doubt in the minds of people who perceive the weakness as such.

That's true. But marketing is
also about implying that a product is the opposite of what it really is. So an Austin Allegro (sounds fast!) was slow, and a Fiat Panda (sounds cuddly!) was square and boxy. All sorts of foods have names today imply health, when they're really UPF and will take years off your life.

It helps to remember that "artificial intelligence" is a marketing name.
