Jupiter and Venus are getting quite close in the morning sky.

The first photo is a look along the horizon. Dawn is breaking, but the full moon is bright enough to put detail on the foreground trees. Orion is in the right half of the frame.

The second photo is a framing up higher in the sky. This wide-angle lens now captures Jupiter, Venus, Orion, Auriga (upper left) and the Hyades in Taurus (upper edge, just right of center)

BTW, Jupiter and Venus are in the constellation Gemini.

Fairly early in morning twilight. Many stars are still visible, but some light of dawn brightens the horizon, especially the lower left corner of the frame. The sky is very dark blue, except for a tiny hint of pink in the lower left.

The full moon shines a bit of detail on the foreground trees.

A couple small bands of clouds add some texture to the sky.

Orion is in the right half of the frame.

Pointing the camera higher up captures other bright constellations of the winter sky.

@KrajciTom@universeodon.com This reminds me that the Romans called August "dog days" because it is when Sirius, the "dog star" following Orion, starts to appear again. Your shots here are great, very well done.
