We are less than one average American lifetime from the year 2100 (and it’s going to get worse a lot sooner than that). When the “deadline” for the climate reckoning is the year 2100, that far in the future, it doesn’t feel very urgent. Making it someone else’s problem- record-breaking heatwaves, hurricanes in May, and wildfires that blackout the sky for weeks be damned.
