@Lazarou@mastodon.social I’ve just read a report when someone at a racist protest was briefly detained and then given a ‘community order notice’. It seems to me the fash are being treated very differently than people carrying a poster and not endorsing violence in any way. Starmer and his ministers are taking the UK on a very dark and dangerous path indeed, given their current close relationship with Donald Trump and this American administration.

The problem, I think, is that what we see fascist protest, many, many Brits see as
'freedom of speech '
'protecting our country '
'protecting our values ' 🤬

Even though most of them struggle to define those values!
Whereas protesting against genocide is seen by the far right as defending foreign terrorists!!
Lack of knowledge and understanding are very dangerous,
