Cisspecies meltcat meat would be more vegan-friendly than any meat currently existing on Earth.

You could just ask a cisspecies meltcat to, for example, melt their shoulder so that their arm falls off. The meltcat wouldn't suffer long term consequences, they can just grow a new arm.

On an industrial scale, there would probably be a bunch of meltcats growing pieces of meat to drop from their bodies all the time, as a job.

@slightlyflightyone@kolektiva.social Meltcats can grow brains that reach or even exceed human level, so I think point 1 would definitely be fulfilled. As for point 2, that would probably be different by the individual, but as it's a painless process for them and they can easily regrow the parts or attach a spare, I would expect consent to be given at least sometimes.
