I love Wonkette, but, (and I know this from personal experience, sorry magats) girls have been allowed in Explorer troups (Boy Scouts for teens that focus on community involvement through public services) since the 1970s. I belonged to a Fire Explorer troup. I was the first girl. But I wasn't the last. And I was, technically, a Boy Scout...
