Like my friend Wallflower, I was reminded of my momma today. I learned after her death from my baby sister that my mother loved dragonflies. She would chase them around when she was little trying to get a better look.

What's coincidental about this is I've been fascinated with dragonflies for a while and the very first necklace I bought for myself when I first started experimenting with dressing as a woman, I bought a dragonfly pendant.

Today I saw what I'm pretty certain is a roseate skimmer. No chance I could get a pic of it. It was flittering about a lot but it landed a few times for a short bit and I could see the brilliant pink of its body.

Of course, I thought of my momma as I whipped my head around trying to follow it and even trying to run closer to where it was sitting.

Here's a pic of one off the interwebz.

@WrenArcher@beige.party Ooh! Me too! The first pendant I bought was a dragonfly, and I’ve always loved them. I also like the story I was told that seeing one is a sign that the weather is changing (rain), and that’s kind of a metaphor for my life changing in a dramatic way.

I’m so glad you have this connection to your momma!
