Is it okay to use AI to break up with someone?

Me: Dating is hard, I get it. But I’m not dating a robot, I’m dating a human being. I prefer one screws up personally, to having an impersonal bot regurgitated excuse.

@EdwinG@mstdn.moimeme.ca There's breaking up in person, which is painful enough. A level below that is breaking up on the phone. Then there's a breakup via text. Then there's a breakup via socials, like removing a Farcebook relationship status. Then down below all of that, there's pure ghosting. And then way down, several layers of sediment below even that, there's breakup by AI.

(Yes, I typed Farcebook entirely by accident, but then decided to leave it.)

@EdwinG@mstdn.moimeme.ca I'll take the flip side of coin on this:

Whether you breakup by AI, by text message or a telegram, in a way it makes it easier for the other person to accept because he/she realises how much whatever relationship existed was fake since the other perosn didn't have the guts to discuss this in person.

However, by AI, you would then have to confirm with other person that he/she truly initiated that message.

@EdwinG@mstdn.moimeme.ca @mayintoronto@beige.party If someone breaks up with you via AI, you should count yourself lucky you dodged a bullet.

@EdwinG@mstdn.moimeme.ca It's not you. It's my processor.

@jfmezei@mstdn.ca I think there’s a learning experience for both parties (as much as it would suck). The AI eliminates that IMHO.

@mayintoronto@beige.party It’s not about you. It’s the worm in Proxima Centauri that’s destroying stars near the Tatooine solar system in a galaxy far far away.
