This might be the first #summer ever that I'm not taking any time off or going anywhere*, and it's dawning on me that #vacation and #travel is the only topic people can talk about this time of year.

The dentist: Where are you going on vacation?

The neighbors: When are you going on vacation?

The colleagues: What are your plans for the summer vacation?

At what point did we start assuming that everyone is able or willing to participate in these capitalistic estival activities?
