You see, I got three books into writing this four-book series and... couldn't finish it. The story I wanted to tell didn't fit with the conventional story tools I had developed: I had to deconstruct the way I told stories to figure out how to tell this story.

Meanwhile, I wrote a whole series of short stories exploring the machine intelligence side as well... since these bots exist in this world, but they're not the ascendant humans who are running it... and one has to wonder, why?
