Is there an argument to be made that if you're on Mastodon you're middle class? I know you're too modest to admit it, but we're a select group. We're not feral like those people on Twitter, or try-hards like the BlueSky lot. And don't get me started on Truth Social (shudder).

No. You're making an assumption of class based on familiarity with a technology or platform. We adapt and learn technologies based not just on class preferences, but need. As a teen I was homeless for a bit, I learned how to phreak public telephones because it was necessary to my survival, not because it was a class indulgence. Given, the necessity of internet access to many people's survival - to find work, apply for aid, navigate healthcare, etc., Internet access and access to the fediverse hardly signals a class.
